Not a Consumer Reporting Agency. San Francisco Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Neither these pages nor a third-party result linked from them may be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
How Current Is the Information?
Rolls are corrected, portals change, library collections move, and fees or coverage can be revised. The pages are maintained as a reference, but no detail is guaranteed to be accurate or current at every moment. Confirm a record with the office that holds it, especially before paying a fee or traveling to a counter.
This Is Not Legal Advice
The pages describe San Francisco record sources and general access rules. They are not legal advice and cannot replace a licensed California attorney, the custodian's instructions, or a court order.
Lawful Use Is Required
Public records support transparency and lawful personal research. Do not use a name, address, parcel, court, custody, or registry result to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or hurt a person. California Penal Code section 646.9 addresses stalking, Civil Code section 1708.7 provides a civil stalking cause of action, and Penal Code section 653m addresses specified harassing communications. Misuse can also violate federal law. These limits are part of the Terms of Use.
Third-Party Search Boxes
Some search boxes are powered by outside companies. The operator does not control what they return, how much they charge, how long results remain available, or how submitted data is handled. Their output is not an FCRA-compliant consumer report.
Links to Outside Sources
Links lead to San Francisco and California assessor, recorder, elections, court, vital-record, library, archive, USPS, and other public resources. An external site's content, accuracy, privacy practice, and availability remain the responsibility of that site's operator.
No Government Records Are Hosted Here
These pages contain no government roll, directory volume, court file, deed, or vital record. They point toward offices, libraries, archives, and portals that do. To obtain, certify, or correct a record, contact its custodian directly.
